JADE GIESEKE GUEVARA, M.D.
Dr. Jade Gieseke Guevara is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in Cornea and External Disease as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Guevara completed her undergraduate studies at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York, NY. She earned her medical doctorate at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. In medical school, Dr. Guevara was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society as well as the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida-Shands Hospital, a tertiary care center known for its high volume of complex cases. She also completed her training in cataract and corneal surgery at the Malcolm-Randall Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, as well as training in refractive surgery at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL.
In her final year of residency, she was elected as Chief Resident, and supervised the on-call eye team at UF and assisted in preparing the junior residents for their written boards in Ophthalmology. Dr. Guevara completed advanced fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease after residency.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Women in Ophthalmology, Broward County Ophthalmological Society, and the Caducean Society of Greater Fort Lauderdale. She has presented research at the regional and national level including at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Guevara practices medical and surgical Cornea including full- and partial-thickness corneal transplant as well as comprehensive ophthalmology, including management of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. She is experienced in laser cataract surgery and small incision, no-stitch cataract surgery as well as the implantation of toric and advanced technology intraocular lens implants. Dr. Guevara is a Fort Lauderdale native and is looking forward to serving her community.
